  The FBI has released a 69-page document detailing how Nigerian Police Abba Kyari assisted Hushpuppi in committing fraud. Nigerian Police Abba Kyari, a 46-year-old Deputy Commissioner of Police and leader of the Inspector General of Police’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT), was named in a report by a US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FIB) officer on Wednesday, July 28, as one of six people who conspired to fraudulently obtain over $1 million from a business person. Ejes Gist reports that the internet fraudster Ramon Abass, also known as Hushpuppi, has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced to a 20-year prison sentence.   Residents of Lagos will tomorrow, Saturday, July 24th, 2021, come out in their numbers to vote for candidates that would pilot their affairs at the grassroots. WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will let people message without using their phone for the first time. At present, WhatsApp is linked to a user’s phone. Its desktop and web apps need that device to be connected and receiving messages. But the new feature will let users send and receive messages “even if your phone battery is dead”. Up to four other devices – like PCs and tablets – can be used together, WhatsApp said. To begin with, the new feature will be rolled out as a beta test for a “small group of users”, and the team plans to improve performance and add features before enabling it for everyone. End-to-end encryption – a key selling point for WhatsApp – will still work under this new system, it said. Several other messaging apps already have such a feature, including rival encrypted app Signal, which requires a phone for sign-up, but not to exchange messages. Major General Hassan Ahmed, former Provost Marshal of the Nigerian Army, has been assassinated in Abuja. He was murdered Thursday night in the Abaji area of the nation’s capital. The assailants kidnapped his sister, Safina Ahmed (initially mistaken for the wife). A source close to the family told DAILY POST that the siblings were coming from Okene when they were attacked. “They opened fire on his vehicle, he died. The driver pretended to be dead from the wound he sustained, so they took the sister away”, the informant said. DAILY POST further gathered that General Ahmed was exposed at the of the incident as he didn’t move with an escort. The deceased was chauffeured by his driver, Sergeant Bukar in a Toyota Hilux with a private plate number. The deceased had been undergoing chemotherapy in a hospital in the United States of America. His demise was announced in a statement by his family on Sunday. The statement read, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of multitalented veteran singer, rapper, songwriter Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Soundsultan.
